What is Animal Reiki
Using the Let Animals Lead process, Animal Reiki to me, is offering Reiki to any animal and letting them decide how much healing energy they take. Animals don't communicate in the same way as us humans, so they can't tell us what is wrong, we can just hope that they understand us, like we hope that we understand them in the same way.
If we look back in time, animals used to use their feel about energy to work out if the oncoming stranger was a friend or foe. This is how they know the healing energy of Reiki is for their highest good. They naturally take what they need from the healing that we send out.
Why?
Like humans, animals suffer from many health conditions, physical, mental and emotional.
Reiki is not a magical cure, and not an alternative to veterinary care, but it is a natural and calm therapy that promotes the natural self-healing process within its own body.
Some of the reasons to offer animal reiki are:
- Its non-evasive, and I don't even have to touch the animal
- It can be given anywhere, anytime - I like to practice in the animals home, so they feel at their most comfortable.
- It needs no equipment or technology
- The animal doesn't have to be moved into uncomfortable positions
- Its relaxing and can therefore help after an operation
- The animal is always the one in control, by choosing how much healing energy they want to receive.
Depending on the situation, the animal may only need one session. Every animal is unique, as is each therapy need, so the amount of sessions will vary.
